4th Project - Narrative Based Performance Group

 Project 4
Narrative Based Performance Group

About Character
We chose a zombie as our character because we wanted to do a sad narrative story about zombie's point of view.

Background Story

This is a story of a zombie's point of view after knowing himself being sick. He never want to be in that way but the physical appearance of himself looking ugly and scary makes people afraid to be close to him. He just want to make friends as how he used to be when he was a person. Apparently, being a zombie also make himself hurts more when he meet the suns. He cannot live in the sun as his skin is going to melt like acidic liquid.

[Narrative]

My life was great before I was diagnosed as a zombie.

What's more painful than having to consider myself not a human anymore.

I felt down.

Left behind.

Seeing everyone is different than I am.

But I need to get up and moved on.

I look everywhere.

Looking for a way outta here.

Empty.

Nothing.

Just like how i feel.

Everyone's avoiding me, even the sun hurts my eye.

I wonder, am i that horrified?

2nd Project - Embodiment in Motion: An Experiential Performance Capture

Project 2 Embodiment in Motion Concept As we know, embodiment practices use the body as tool for healing through self-awareness, mindfulness, connection, self-regulation, finding balance, and creating self acceptance. So in this project, my group and I decided to do a traditional dance as a way on how we want to see the body movement when we dance. We also want to see how traditional dance is show on 3D character as we were excited to learn how to use Motion Capture tools. Reference Video Brainstorming As we listen to the music, it takes more than a minute so we decided to choose the important moves and steps. In this case, we were trying to disobey the rules in the project briefing because we thought it is impossible to make a dance for 30 seconds. Plan A: 1 minute dance ** after 2 beats ** - Salam 1x4 - Silang kaki 1x4 - Burung kanan kiri kanan kiri 1x8 - Ngauk ai 1x4 - Pusing ke kiri 1x8 - Pusing ke kanan 1x8 - Ngauk ai 1x4 - Salam 1x4   After everything were done for the dancer...

Performance Animation

Hi there, welcome to my blog! Let see what can we learn in this blog.   What is Performance Animation? This is what we animation students learn about in our second year. So basically, this course is about a performance capture by using optical motion capture (MoCap) system. The students will be exposed to the principles of acting and motion capture processes to enhance their digital performance skills. Students will be taught on motion tracking and translate the motion data into 3D application to be mapped with the 3D characters. Students also will learn motion editing techniques to manipulate the motion acquired. At the end of this course, students will be able to produce a believable animation. Ever wonder how we film our MoCap? So here is how our MoCap equipment look like.
